Howden's steam turbines provide a power output up to 12MW. Our steam turbines have a rich history. These compact turbo machines were originally designed and manufactured by Kuhnle, Kopp & Kausch AG - formed in 1899 and have subsequently been manufactured under the name Siemens Turbomachinery Equipment. A unique feature of these steam turbines is the way that they have been designed to be modular, so that they can be connected in a huge different number of combinations. This makes them incredibly flexible and therefore able to fit with a wide range of customer requirements. Steam Turbines are designed to turn energy from fluid onto the rotor, and our products are considered the most economical and flexible turbines that you can get. The steam turbines can be used as a generator drive for power generation, or as a mechanical drive for your rotating equipment such as compressors and pumps. We can offer solutions for all customer demands from the simple CORE for packagers, up to extensively customised/engineered systems within the range up to 12 MW. From our smallest turbogenerator through our single stage turbine and right up to our multi-casing steam turbine, we have the ideal industrial solution for your turbo needs.

BASE

The BASE steam turbine, previously known as the SST-040 / 050, has a power output up to 1,000 kW.

Features :
Applications: Turbogenerator e.g. in waste-heat recovery, small CHP plants and decentralized solar facilities. The BASE as mechanical drive serves a wide range of industries

CORE

Previously known as the SST-060 the CORE steam turbines are ideal for those who wish to complete the unit for customers, and for use as a mechanical drive for power generation.

Features :
Applications: Chemistry, Petrochemistry , Refineries, Sugar / Palmoil, Wood / Paper, Electricity Supplier, Municipal Utilities, Smelters / Steel, IPP / Contracting / Engineering, Food, Energy-from-waste Plants, Waste heat recovery, Ship / Offshore.

TWIN

Previously known as the SST-110, the TWIN steam turbine is a dual casing turbine that can run on different stream lines on one gearbox. Furthermore the dual casing design enables for controlled extraction.

Features :
Applications: Chemistry, Petrochemistry , Refineries, Sugar / Palmoil, Wood / Paper, Electricity Supplier, Municipal Utilities, Smelters / Steel, IPP / Contracting / Engineering, Food, Energy-from-waste Plants, Waste heat recovery, Ship / Offshore, Sludge incineration.

TRI

The TRI allows three turbines to be connected to the integrated gear. Like the TWIN this allows the TRI to run on different stream lines or provides up to two controlled extractions.

Features :
Applications: Chemistry, Petrochemistry , Refineries, Sugar / Palmoil, Wood / Paper, Electricity Supplier, Municipal Utilities, Smelters / Steel, IPP / Contracting / Engineering, Food, Energy-from-waste Plants, Waste heat recovery, Ship / Offshore, Sludge incineration.

Engineered solutions

All turbine types are also available as special engineered and tailormade solution for e.g. Oil & Gas, special purposes, ATEX etc. with no limits in complexity and according customer specifications. For example COMBI trains with multiple extractions or EXP (expanders) for gas expansion.
